| Dans l'obscurité et une faute d'orthographe qui arrange le club: Dear Sir/Madam
According to NASA, Spain has the largest number of dark sky areas in Europe. These atmospheric clarity places are located at high altitude, free of light pollution. One of the best places in the world to go stargazing is in southeastern Spain, in Moratalla, in the province of Murcia. The small hamlet of Cañada de la Cruz, which has 194 inhabitants. is a bortle scale 1 location, which famous astronomy photographers like Rogelio Bernal Andreo have chosen to make their best shots.
Cañada de la Cruz is located at 1,273 meters above sea level (coordinates: 38º 01' 51'' N - 2º 16' 50'' W), at the foot of Revolcadores Mountain (2,014 meters). Its climate conditions are optimal for astronomical observation. On average, there are 3,155 sunny hours per year in Cañada de la Cruz, with an annual average of 37 rainy days and 34 days of overcast skies. The annual mean temperature is 13.3 degrees Celsius and the average annual rainfall is 449 mm.
Cañada de la Cruz has excellent road access and Murcia-San Javier International Airport is only 150 km from the village, which is also in close proximity to several bigger cities like Madrid (435 km), Granada (188 km), Alicante International Airport (182 km) and Murcia city (117 km). Caravaca de la Cruz is located 45 km from Cañada de la Cruz and it has a hospital, schools and all kinds of shops., plus a a rich artistic and cultural heritage. This beautiful scenery, perfect spot for stargazing projects, is also close to the Mediterranean Sea and the Mar Menor Sea, the largest coastal saltwater lagoon in Europe, with a warm climate all year. The distance from the hamlet to the Mediterranean Sea is 121 km.
The company ASTRONAMUR, LTD. founded in 2004, has launched a pioneering and unique project, enabling the creation of the first astronomy village in Europe. After thoroughly searching for the most suitable spot, ASTRONAMUR, LTD. acquired 43 hectares of land at the foot of the southern slope of Revolcadores mountain in Cañada de la Cruz, a place of great natural interest. After several years of technical analyses and drafts, the Spanish administrative authorities approved the project and the legal status of building-floor area, obtaining the required building permits.
ASTRONAMUR, LTD. offers 43 hectares (430,000 square meters) for sale to groups and individual astronomy lovers, whether amateur or professional, so that you can realize the construction of the first astronomical village in Europe. A village project that we have called ASTRONATUR, by linking together astronomy and nature. A place that harmonizes environment and ecological sustainability, where only low density development is permitted to guarantee a sustainable community and a balanced quality of life. You can build your house with an extensive private garden to enjoy private astronomical observation. Permissions to build a astronomic hotel, or collective observatories are also granted. It is also the ideal place to bouild a large Astronomical Observatory. ASTRONAMUR, LTD. offers astronomy lovers the chance of passing into history as the promoters of the creation of the first European village born by and for Astronomy.
If you require any further information or if you want to arrange a meeting to know the setting of the ASTRONATUR project, please do not hesitate to contact me at the following e-mail address: astronamurspain@gmail.com
